Walk Me Home
                                                ...to the place I belong

Walk Me Home is the signature fund-raising and awareness event for foster care in America.  We know not everyone can be a foster parent, but Walk Me Home is a great way to support the over 513,000 children in foster care.  This year thousands and thousands of walkers will participate in a Walk Me Home event across the country, raising funds to support the life changing programs and activities of foster care associations throughout the United States.

October 11th @ 9:00 a.m.
At Haymarket Park in Lincoln, NE

Here's how to get involved...

Your involvement can be simple and quick.  Just go to www.walkmehome.org and click to register fo the local event near you.  Create a team of family member, friends, classmates, or business associates and join in the fun.

If there is no walk near you, sign up on-line for a virtual walk.  A virtual waall is a way you can participate and receive the same benefits as people walking in organized walks, but by doing it on your own.

If you cannt walk, you can financially sponsor a walk or a team by visiting the National Foster Parent Associations's website.

Listen to the Official Theme Song of Walk Me Home...to the place I belong. This song was especially written for the National Foster Parent Association and its signature special event by Jaime Fox, Si Hill and Bruce Wallace and is performed by Jaime Fox.

Walk Me Home is a 5K (3.1 mile) walk that almost anyone can do!

L5 Youth Ranch & Horse Rescue

The L5 Youth Ranch is a faith based, 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization whose purpose is to serve disadvantaged youth of Nebraska, as well as provide a place for horses that have been abused, neglected, or just aren't wanted anymore to live happy lives.  They provide a safe place for kids and horses to foster hope and healiong that will ultimately change their lives.

Their program is free of charge to any child in need and funded solely by donations.  In their program each child is paired with one horse and one leader and is given a private session that best serves their individual needs. Instead of being lost in a group, each child is nurtured by a leader who shares in their private tears and victories.  Through hands-on  experience, they teach kids the value of life, family, faith, and trust.  The sessions are not focused on a rigis impersonal schedule, but rather on a relationship based individual need,.  sometimes they may want to ride, sometimes just to bush a horse and share with someone who won't judge them and other times they may just need to so some "ranch work" to release some energy.  Their focus is on what their needs are at that particular time in their life.

ALL SESSIONS ARE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.
