NFAPA has organized a new program titled "Kits for Kids." Oftentimes, children and youth who are placed in foster care are moved with only the clothing they have on their back. Providing some items for the child or youth as each begins their journey through foster care is a wonder way to show care and compassion. The child or youth also benefits by having something to call his or her own.

As a member of your community, you can help out by completing the donation form below and mailing it to NFAPA, or you can purchase items or gift certificates that we can use for the care kit.

Here are some suggestions of items needed:

  • Infants: Diaper bag, disposable diapers, baby ointment, lotion, powder, new baby bottles, toys appropriate for infants, blankets, pacifier, disposable camera to take photos for the birth family,  etc.
  • Children 2-9 years: Duffel bag or backpack, toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, comb or hairbrush, t-shirts that can be used for pajamas, crayons, coloring books, notebook, stuffed toy, stationary and postage stamps to write letters to their parents, disposable camera to take photos for the birth family, gift certificates to purchase necessary items.
  • Children and Youth 10 and up: Duffel bag or backpack, toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, comb or hairbrush, other personal hygiene items, t-shirts, socks, stuffed toy, pens, pencils, notebook, stationary and postage stamps to write letters to their parents, disposable camera to take photos for the birth family, gift certificates to purchase necessary items.

This is a project that any service organization, church, youth group, 4-H Clubs, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and other can participate in. For more information, please contact NFAPA, at 402-476-2273 or toll-free at 877-257-0176.
