Secure Information Xchange - SIX System

The Department of Health and Human Services developed a secure web site to allow the transmission of confidential information regarding its clients. The Secure Information Xchange, SIX System will allow Nebraska foster parents to communicate regarding children in their care through a secured e-mail system.

The SIX System functions very similar to a regular e-mail system, in that you will be provided with an address book and be able to attach Microsoft Word and Excel spreadsheet documents. When a message is sent to you through the SIX System you will receive a regular e-mail message that will direct you to the SIX web site.

In order to use the SIX System you will have to be registered and you will be provided with a password and user ID. To be registered, HHS will need your name, phone number, and active e-mail address. Registration of foster parents will occur through the Nebraska Foster and Adoptive Parent Association.

To register, you may use the online submission form. Once submitted, please allow 2-4 weeks for your registration to take effect.

If you are communicating with Protection and Safety Staff regarding the children in your care through e-mail, you MUST use the SIX System for e-mail communication. Any non-secure e-mail transmission may be considered a breach of confidentiality.

If you have additional questions, please contact NFAPA at 402-476-2273 or 877-257-0176. You may also e-mail us at nfapaevents@alltel.net.
